S.C.O.U.R.G.E. is a rogue-like game in the fine tradition of NetHack and Moria It sports a graphical front-end, similar to glHack or the Falcon's eye. I tried to design the 3D UI as a best of both worlds from old to new: It lets you rotate the view, zoom in/out, view special effects, etc. On the other hand I've always liked the old-school isometric games like Exult or Woodward.
I also dig openGL, 3D modeling, bitmap textures, warhammer, paranoia, magic, and AD&D, chess, and other Role Playing Games! Modding SCOURGE and Neverwinter Nights keeps me awake at night!

SCOURGE News
Hallöchen! Another very busy week has gone by, as we had to pull a release and fix it. This was accomplished by kotk and Gabor, while I updated documentation here on the site and in the source code. Leadgolem built a Fedora x64 package which can be downloaded on Sourceforge.

Work is already underway for new features in the next release. Gabor is in the process of adding more eye candy to the graphics engine, and kotk is optimizing the GUI code which is important for easily implementing a few planned features.

Scourge is now officially in beta; all the major features are in place. This also means we can concentrate on polish and adding more content. The future looks good! :-)

SCOURGE News
We are proud to announce the next major release of Scourge! This maintenance release fixes bugs that slipped into 0.21, thus an upgrade is heavily recommended.

The changes since 0.20:

  • The storyline is complete; the game can now be finished and you can upload your final score.
  • Substantial frame rate improvements in all areas of the game. Scourge should now be playable on low end systems, too.
  • Monsters and NPCs actively fight each other.
  • Full Spanish translation, in addition to German and Italian.
  • New icons, textures, item models and music.
  • More outdoor themes, and new house models for outdoors.
  • New inventory-like container UI.
  • New "Call for Help" spell (summons a monster).
  • Loads of bugfixes and optimizations.

This is our christmas present to you, and we hope you will have at least as much fun playing the game as we had developing it :-)
